We did a lot today. Shopped for Pati's (the baby of the family) graduation party. Interviewed someone for a story only to find out that the assignment is no longer happening. Got her prom dress hemmed. Shopped for Buttercup's first birthday party gear. Went out to lunch. Delighted in watching Buttercup baby-babble with the baby at the next table. Talked. Looked at jewelry designs online to see what I can duplicate for some prom-night bling. Drove side by side to a funeral procession. Felt guilty for immediately noticing how short it was. Wondered when Dad had time to make an impact on so many people's lives that over 50 cars participated in the procession when he spent every waking moment working to provide for his wife and children.
It's been one of those days.
And all because we drove side by side a funeral procession.

Aww, I'm sorry that you had to drive along one of those today. But your dad sure seemed like he was greatly loved, and a great dad.
