I actually followed through with going to bed early last night. I was in bed by 10:30, which since I began working from home, is totally unheard of. With dreams of waking up early and getting a head start on the day, I fell asleep quickly, only to wake up to a crying Buttercup at 3 a.m.
Super long story short: We had ice cream at 3 a.m. together and then she was up until 5 playing with her toys. Lesson learned? Oh, hell yes.
So now I am sitting here at 11:30 a.m. in my jammies. Buttercup is next to me, eating her breakfast. Toast and yogurt, thank you very much. We'll save the midnight snacks for later. Much, much later.
Now, for ten random things about me, courtesy of my recent tag from Michelle:
1) I do really stupid things sometimes. See ice cream incident above for a great example. These are referred to as "Pauline" or "Mexican blonde" moments. Remember that because I'll most likely be referring to those in the future.
2) I have wanted to be a writer since I was 8 and found out that Canadian children's author Gordon Korman got his first kid's novel published when he was, like, 12. I am now a freelance writer because it pays the bills while I work on getting my own children's books published (I have 2 done!) and wait for my muse that will help me write a major best-seller for adults that comes with Oprah visits, a fat advance, and movie deals.
3) I wear a DD bra. No applause is necessary, thank you. These little puppies are courtesy of my plastic surgeon, whom I will forever be grateful to for SHRINKING my former GG's to a very nice and manageable size back in 2002. Had I been able to share, I would have had 4 pounds of boob to pass around to friends and family after the surgery.
4) I love peanut butter. It's like crack. Add chocolate to the mix and I'd do some very naughty things to get my fix.
5) I had an unmedicated childbirth, not counting the being induced thing. Yes, I know that makes me sound crazy. But I get really sick from anesthesia type things, so this was the best way to go for me. As for the next baby? We may adopt...
6)I'm deathly afraid of spiders. Sure, I appreciate their role in controlling the insect population and all, but if I find one in my house or on myself, I will freak out in epic proportions. And God help me if I see one in my car while driving.
7) I believe that Buttercup is going to grow up to be a singer. The kind that is respected and keeps her clothes on; kinda like Celine Dion with Mariah Carey's pitch (but not her wardrobe.)
8) I graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with honors.
9) I am HORRIBLE at math. 2 + 2 = ummm....give me a minute.
10)I love being a mom!
There, I am done. How many people do I tag for this thing, now? I don't know if that many people know about my blog.
Let's try:
The Cutler Family
That Crazy Mom
Living' with me
and brain fizzles!
Oh-and I'm on tagging vacation. Officially. Any tags sent before June of 2009 will be returned to sender.

Just thought you would know!
Susan, drugs might be nice but I seriously think i will have to tough it out for number two as well. As long as I can skip being induced, it will be a walk in the park.
:)
Shelle! Thanks for the super sweet comment!
Peanut butter is crack, crack indeed. Even Neela likes it and I have already become her doggie dealer.
Great-- now I can't stop thinking about peanut butter.
