Sleep-deprived and in need of caffeine

I am going on less than eight hours of sleep in 48 hours at this point. Part of it is my fault and deciding to indulge a bit and stay up late on the Fourth of July, only to be snapped out of my happy buzz and back into mommy-hood when Buttercup woke up at 1:30 a.m. and needed me to soothe her until 3 a.m. I also ended up waking up at 6 a.m. because we had fallen asleep with a water-filled sippy cup in the bed, only to have it drip (and drip and drip) until we had a wet spot the size of Texas between us.
And instead of sleeping when we got back, I decided to try and catch up on laundry and general housework (what the hell was I thinking???) so after waking up at 6 a.m. to the sounds of Pati, my little sister, getting violently ill in the bathroom. Within minutes, I was dressed and driving her to the emergency room.
Five hours later, we finally got a diagnosis of pancreatitis, and she was admitted.
The rest of the day was back and forth to the hospital, dropping off Pati's stuff off to her, and staying to visit and help keep Pati's spirits up.
And if my day already had not been long enough, I ended up waiting in the hospital parking lot with my other sisters while waiting for the engine to cool down only to discover it wasn't going to start no matter what.
By this time, it was already 9:30 at night and no one had eaten dinner, so we drove to Wendy's, hit the drive-thru, and then I dropped them off.
It's now midnight and Buttercup is now sleeping (thank God!), and I am trying to catch up with a bit of laundry and writing until she wakes up and ends up in bed with me and her daddy.
Can you say, "I need a vacation?!?!?"

Oh boy...that was an eventful day! There certainly is not catchup on sleep, or no reast for the weary! I would say take a nap today, but I am not one to do the same. Too much to do and don't wat to get behind. I guess sitting and blogging wil be the relax time!

Oh babe! I'm sorry you've had such a crazy day. How the heck is Patti doing? I'm hoping she's already doing a little better because pancreatitis makes people feel so so sick. Hang in there and I hope things settle down soon :-)
