Thoughts to ponder

One question for all of you before I go to bed: Why is it that open-minded people sometimes have to stifle their opinions in order to keep the close-minded from going off on never-ending, one-sided soap-boxes?
Doesn't that seem counter-productive?

You're right, it is, but it's true. I guess it's tiring to have those conversations, and they can never be had in a useful, thoughtful way, so it's easier just to skip them.
